TAMPA, Fla. — As the Giants paraded through Lower Manhattan, it rained on the Yankees’ pre-spring training workout Tuesday. It was a steady rain, falling from a canopy of granite clouds that hovered over the team’s minor league complex, across the street from Steinbrenner Field.
The weather did not bother Lisa Hyman and the four teenagers she trekked with four hours from Fort Lauderdale, just so they could wait outside the gates of the parking lot, hoping for a glimpse and maybe an autograph from an early-arriving major league player. One of those teenagers was Hyman’s 17-year-old son, Myles.
