Richard Wiederhold

BREVARD COUNTY — District Fire Chief Richard Wiederhold died from complications sustained from a motor vehicle accident on January 13, 2011.

Born in Orlando, he received his BA from Florida State University in English and Masters degree in Public Administration from University of Central Florida.

A Fire Fighter at Reedy Creek and Winter Park Fire departments, EMS Director and later a Brevard County District Fire Chief for over 34 years.

A published author of 4 text books used and translated at universities all over the world, a commercial rated pilot whose passion was flying, as well as an “angel flight” pilot transporting sick children across the country for free.

A UCF college professor, DMAT Florida 6 government employee, distinguished military.

Rich was a devoted husband, father and friend.

He is survived by a loving family that miss him terribly.

Public viewing in Orlando, Florida  March 16, from 5 – 9, at Newcomer, and Funeral Services at St. Stephen, March 17, 12 – 3.
