BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Hope Sylvia Charles, 93, of Melbourne passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at her home.

She moved to Melbourne in 1980 after a career as a teacher.

She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, the Women of ELCA, Eau Gallie Women’s Club and Co-founder of the Christian Cancer Center in India.

Survivors include her daughters Mary, Rhoda and Sarah, and sons John and Silas and son-in-law Alfred, daughters-in-law Erna and Vasantha, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling will be held Sunday March 18th from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at The St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Melbourne, Florida.

Mrs. Charles will be buried in her native country India.
