Anderson Qualifies For 2012 Commission Race

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard County Commissioner Andy Anderson has gathered enough signatures to qualify for the 2012 election in his bid to retain his position.

Anderson, a Republican who represents County Commission District 5, gathered 979 signatures to submit for certification and verification to Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott.

A total of 716 signatures were required to be on the ballot and Scott was able to validate 775 signatures that Anderson submitted.

Anderson has served as District 5 county commissioner since 2008 and has resided in Brevard County for more than 22 years.

His executive managerial experience in project management, business administration and business operations includes more than 15 years.

He is a military veteran and served as an investigator for the U.S. Army Drug Suppression team.

Anderson is married and the father of three children.

Democratic candidate Sylvester H. Julien of Palm Bay will oppose Anderson in the general election in November.
