MCC Beats Viera For District 19 Crown

In the District 19 finals, Melbourne Central Catholic defeated Viera 9-6 to claim the district crown.

MCC will now prepare to host District 20 champion Vero Beach Tuesday in the FHSAA Finals first-round playoff game.

Titusville Defeats Merritt Island, Advances To 5A Regional Quarterfinals

The Titusville Terriers beat Merritt Island 5-2 Thursday to win the Class 5A, District 9 title.

Pitcher Kelsey Jefferson was masterful for Titusville in the district finale, fanning nine and holding the high-powered Mustangs to just two runs.

Titusville advances to host Lake Wales in the Class 5A regional quarterfinals Tuesday night.

Merritt Island will travel to play Auburndale in the regionals as District 9 runner-up.

The Holy Trinity Tigers fell to Fort Pierce 8-1 in the Class 3A, District 6 title game, but earned a berth in Tuesday’s regional quarterfinals as the District 6 runner-up.

Holy Trinity will meet District 5 champion Trinity Prep in Winter Park on Tuesday in the Class 3A regional quarterfinals.
