The cops seized 13 pounds 6 ounces of marijuana packaged in 24 vacuum sealed packages, according to Steve Wilkinson, Commander, Support Services Division of the West Melbourne Police Department.

Taken into custody were Evian Silvan, 23, of Jacksonville, and Amanda Loureiro, 24, of Miami.

At 10:14 p.m. the West Melbourne police observed a gold BMW traveling north on I-95 just north of Palm Bay Rd. Officers noticed that the vehicle did not have proper tag lighting and pulled it over.

The officers then asked the driver, Loureiro, for permission to search the car, which was granted. Officers became suspicious when they observed items, including a large circuit board, which is used in marijuana cultivation.

Upon opening the trunk of the BMW, officers discoverd a large zippered bag which contained a garbage bag with 24 large vacuumed sealed bags of marijuana.

Officers said that upon discovering the pot, Silvan blurted out, “that is all mine, nothing is hers.”
