Workshop to Examine Current Fair Housing Laws

BREVARD COUNTY •  VIERA, FLORIDA – Federal and state fair housing laws will be the focus of a Brevard County Home Consortium-sponsored workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the county Government Center in Viera.

The focus of the workshop includes prohibited discriminatory practices in the sale and rental of dwellings, advertising violations, occupancy restrictions, exemptions under the Fair Housing Act, housing for older persons, fair housing rights for persons with disabilities, fair housing design and construction requirements and other fair housing issues.

The workshop is presented by Fair Housing Continuum Inc.

Admission is free and participants will find out the difference between landlord/tenant issues and fair housing complaints.

The workshop will be held in the Atlantic Room, third floor of Building C at the Brevard County Government Center, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way in Viera.
