BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A busy day for Palm Bay Police became even busier with patrol officers and detectives called to investigate a shooting that was reported in the area of Healey Street NW.

Police spokesman Yvonne Martinez said that at about 4 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to the 1400 block of Healey St. NW after reports of a shooting there.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 25-year-old white man with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics treated the victim who was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne in critical condition.

Detectives are following a number of leads and are attempting to identify and locate the individuals involved in the shooting.
