Irene Theresa Kabboord

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA — Irene Theresa Kabboord, 85, of Cocoa Beach, passed away on April 28, 2012, at Cape Canaveral Hospital, with her husband, John, and her sons by her side.

Irene was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she also met her husband of 65 years, John J. Kabboord.

Together they moved to Cocoa Beach in 1953, where she continued to live, raising their four sons.

Irene was a life-long dedicated wife and mother who spent her life serving and caring for her family.

Irene was also one of the founding members of Our Saviour’s Catholic Church, which she first attended with her family, when services could only be held in the 12 lane bowling alley at the corner of A1A and SR 520 in Cocoa Beach.

She is survived by her husband, John; sons, William J. (Virginia), John J., Jr. (Nora), David W. (Ali), and Mark D. (Julie); together with grandchildren, John J. III (Katherine), Elly A., Rachel T., Brent, Lily S. Kaylor; and sister-in-law, Nancy Kabboord.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. till 6:30 p.m., at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Ave. in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at Church of Our Saviour, 5301 N. Atlantic Ave., in Cocoa Beach.

Donations may be made in her memory to Our Saviour’s Catholic School.
