BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA — The North Brevard Association of Medical Services (NBAMS), a professional medical networking group, has named Jeanette Manning 2012 Nurse of the Year.
Manning was introduced to warm applause at a recent meeting that honored National Nurses Week. At least six nurses were among the forty five attendees.
Manning is a veteran nurse with 16 years experience, including 11 years in the NICU unit at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
“Jeanette has a very caring nature, to the point where she has been known to use her own funds to purchase groceries for struggling patients.” said colleague Rebecca Emory.
“Jeanette has seen a variety of cases in her career. In fact, she once delivered a baby in a parking lot, when labor came so quickly that the mother didn’t make it into the medical building!” said Emory.
Those in attendance at the meeting included Rose Cavaliere of Comforts of Home Care, Debbie Williams of Courtenay Springs, Jennifer Brewer of Benton House, Jacquie Esterline of Levin Home Care.
Also in attendance were Lori Danford of Wuesthoff Home Medical Equipment, Lena Hennis of Lincare, and Andy Robinson of Vista Manor.
The keynote speaker was Greg Bonenberger of Brevard Medical Equipment. He spoke about Medicare Competitive Bidding for Direct Medical Equipment, and fielded questions from the audience.
