Nelson Schedules Open House In Cocoa

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Brevard County Commissioner Chuck Nelson is hosting a monthly open house in Cocoa on Friday to encourage residents to speak with him about community issues.

Nelson, who represents District 2 on the county commission, will hold an open house from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Central Brevard Library and Reference Center, 308 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa.

District 2 encompasses Cocoa, Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, Avon by the Sea, Cocoa Beach, Snug Harbor and Patrick Air Force Base.

Nelson is serving his second term on the county commission after spending 14 years as Director of the Brevard Parks and Recreation Department.

He has more than 32 years of experience in public service and is an avid boater and fishing enthusiast.

Nelson is married and the father of one. He resides on Merritt Island and earned a degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from the University of South Florida.
