BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Up and down the Space Coast, high school football teams closed out spring practice with a flurry Friday night, trying to impress coaches and fans with inspired play heading into summer.

For many young players it was a chance to make an impression and for some upperclassmen, the annual spring games are an opportunity to step up to a new position  or solidify their hold on one they had earned previously.

Coaches were given a chance to try out new offenses and develop new defensive schemes, while players also received valauble experience under game-like conditions.

Even cheerleaders and referees were on hand to put in some training time before the first games of the fall season begin in mid-August.

Here’s a rundown of Friday’s scoreboard and brief highlights from games involving Brevard teams:

SATELLITE 19, EAU GALLIE 0.  (Scorpions defense prevents Commodores’ big plays to post shutout)
