Zach’s Story

Here, in his own words, is Zach’s story and his dream.

“Reaching the PGA Tour has been a dream of mine since I picked up a club as an eight year old at a summer golf camp. After experiencing that first exciting moment of impact, some part of me knew that I would never be the same.

“As fate would have it, golf continued to grow as a part of my life, drawing me in and growing from a youthful passion to my chosen profession.

“The greatest gift anyone can give me is the opportunity to chase my dream. Hard work, natural ability, and innate desire can only take me so far. Join me on Friday, June 1 to help me reach my goal.

“After learning the sport from my father as a junior golfer, I began to concentrate my athletic efforts on golf as I started high school.  During my time as a Cocoa Beach Minuteman, I grew both in my ability level and in my appreciation for the game.

Early Successes

“The successes I achieved, from becoming team captain as a sophomore to graduating as the conference player of the year, pushed me to strive for new heights in the game. My athletic and academic ability would provide me that opportunity.

“After graduating as the valedictorian of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at University of Florida, I competed at a high level in some of the largest amateur tournaments in the country – and was ready for a new adventure.

“Florida Tech gave me the chance that I needed to succeed in college golf. Joining the golf team as a graduate student while pursuing an MBA was a challenge, but one I was up for.

“My first year included an individual invitation to the NCAA tournament and an all-conference award. The second yielded a team invitation to the tournament, my first collegiate win and All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American recognition (oh…. and a Masters in Business Administration.)

Reaching these new levels of success created the desire to continue challenging myself. That next challenge is to chase the dream of PGA tour membership.

I know I have the work ethic. I know that I have the talent to compete at the highest level. Now, I need the opportunity to prove that I can succeed in reaching my ultimate dream.

With the support of those closest to me, I chose to turn professional and take the first few steps towards that dream.

Now, with continued support, I know that I can complete this unbelievable journey towards golf’s ultimate stage.  The greatest gift anyone can receive is the opportunity to chase a dream.

Hard work, natural ability  and innate desire can only take someone so far; to reach the highest level requires these necessary attributes to be applied towards the right opportunity.

I want to thank you for supporting the dream that I continue to chase by providing me the best opportunity to quickly reach the pinnacle of professional golf.”  Zach Potter
