Jarvis Wins Distinguished Service Award

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Jeff Jarvis, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Accreditation Manager, was presented the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission’s 2011 Distinguished Service Award for the State of Florida.  He received this honor at the Florida Police Accreditation Commission Conference in Bonita Springs yesterday.

Jarvis has been involved with the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission accreditation process for several years, and has provided unique insight and expertise for improvements to the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission process and standards.

His correctional expertise and willingness to assist other agencies through the accreditation process have been exemplary.  Jarvis has provided significant suggestions for updates to standards which were approved by the Commission and greatly enhanced the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission standards.

In the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Jarvis has been recognized for many jail improvements to include implementing the jail’s innovative “going green” program which produced significant savings for the Jail Complex.

“Jeff is a great blessing to our Jail and our Sheriff’s Office,” said Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker.

“He is constantly thinking of ways to improve the jail operation by making it safer and more affordable.  His work is outstanding and he would be welcomed in any jail, or any successful company for that matter.  We consider ourselves very fortunate he has chosen to be a member of our team.”
