Participants must pre-register for the events. Pre-registration for current program participants is $5; for non-program participants it is $10; and for on-site day of registration its $15.

Melbourne PlayDays will be conducted on Sunday at Suntree Country Club, July 21 at Suntree Country Club and Aug. 4 at Jimmy Moore Park in Melbourne.

Each event will feature tennis for 8-Under children from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and for 10-Under children from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The days will include tennis, prizes and snacks.

The USTA 10-Under Tennis format is designed for children featuring smaller court sizes, racquet sizes, foam and decompressed balls, a simple scoring system and net heights adjusted to ease kids into the sport.

Similar mini-tennis formats have long been popular in Europe, where current stars such as Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters first learned the game with age-adjusted racquets, balls and court sizes.
