BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Titusville woman remains in critical condition today after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning on State Road 405.

At 1:43 a.m. Sunday, Titusville Police responded to a call near Swan Lake Drive about a pedestrian being hit by a car.

The victim was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation by traffic homicide investigators revealed a witness reported seeing a silver or gray car, similar to a Chevrolet Malibu, run over a woman who was already lying in the roadway.

The car, which was traveling southbound on State Road 405 toward State Road 50, failed to stop and continued southbound following the incident.

Investigators have not determined why the Christina Marie Rosten of Titusville, 38, was lying in the roadway when she was struck.

Based upon her injuries, it does not appear that Rosten was struck by more than one vehicle.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Titusville Police at 321-264-7800.  Anonymous tipsters may call CRIMELINE at 800-324-TIPS. (8477)
