Police Arrest Two For Harming Titusville Child

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Poloice have arrested and charged two Titusville residents following an incident where a 3-year-old child was hospitalized with severe abdominal injuries.

About 12:45 Monday Titusville police and fire rescue personnel were called to the Palmetto Ridge Apartments at 1221 Prairie Lane regarding a 3-year-old child that was unresponsive.

Upon arriving at the scene, then child was found to have pulse and was breathing, but was unresponsive, according to Titusville Detective Tyler Wright .

The child was transported to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville and was treated there for trauma to the abdominal area.

Wright said that once stabilized, the child was flown to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando for further treatment.

Upon investigation, Joshua Carter, 20, admitted to detectives that he struck the child on Saturday causing the injury. He was arrested for aggravated child abuse and remanded to the Brevard County Jail.

Police also arrested the child’s mother, Breanna Love, 19, and charged her with child neglect for failing to seek medical attention for the child. Love also was transported to the Brevard County Jail.

Reportedly Love denied knowing the child had been hit, but knew the child was ill and instead went to a nightclub on Saturday, police said.
