Porch Catches Fire

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue crews have put out a structure fire that erupted this morning in the 1500 block of Neosho Street.

Palm Bay spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said that a neighbor called 911 about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and reported hearing what sounded like an explosion.

When firefighters arrived at the sceene, Martinez said they saw fire in the rear of the home on the back porch with extension into the roof.

She said firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Martinez said that there were pets in the home, but their status is unknown at this time.

The Brevard County fire marshal is responding to the scene investigate the blaze.
