Merritt Island Aims To Defend State Volleyball Title

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The final moments of the 2011 volleyball season were memories to savor for fans of the Merritt Island Mustangs.
After powering to district and regional titles for Coach Angie Patrick, Merritt Island (27-6) went on to defeat Gulf Breeze for the 2011 Class 5A state championship.
Now entering her sixth season as Mustangs’ coach, Patrick has amassed a record of 74-21 and expects Merritt Island to be title contenders once again in 2012.
Patrick brought most of her team to Space Coast Media Day at Space Coast Stadium and here’s a look at an interview spacecoastdauily.com conducted with her and some of her players.
