BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Sheriff’s candidate and Todd Maddox has endorsed Wayne Ivey in his candidacy for Brevard County Sheriff.
“The purpose of a party primary election is to allow the parties to choose their representative for the general election,” said Maddox.
“We have just been through an amazing year of campaigning and the voters have chosen Wayne Ivey as their Republican nominee for Brevard County Sheriff to face a Democrat in November. I believe in the party system and that we must come together at the end of the primary and work together. I have spoken with Wayne since the election and, while the past year of campaign has highlighted our differences, it is our common beliefs that now lead me to endorse his candidacy for Sheriff.
“We both believe in the value of community involvement, the need to make sure the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office have the tools necessary to do the job and the importance of the Sheriff as a constitutional officer. Wayne has repeatedly stated throughout the campaign his goal of continuing to build upon the strong leadership of Sheriff Jack Parker and his plans to keep our communities safe by building partnerships throughout Brevard. Wayne’s plans will grow a strong Sheriff’s Office to provide excellent service to the citizens of Brevard,” said Maddox.
Ivey has previously received the endorsement and support of hundreds of Community Leaders and Law Enforcement Officers, to include Sheriff Jack Parker, the NRA, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Florida PBA, the Coastal Florida PBA, the Fraternal Order of Police Palm Bay Lodge 111, The Brevard County Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2969, Space Coast Realtors®, the Melbourne Area Association of Realtors, Business Voice of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, Florida Agricultural Commissioner Adam Putnam, FDLE Commissioner Tim Moore (ret.), Florida House Representative Steve Crisafulli, Colonel Danny McKnight USA (ret.), former Sheriff’s candidate and BCSO Sergeant Gary Harrell and the strong support of current and former Brevard County Chiefs of Police.
“I am honored to have the endorsement and support of Lt. Todd Maddox as we move toward the November General Election,” said Ivey.
“As a valued member of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, I appreciate Todd’s confidence in me to serve as Brevard County’s next Sheriff. Todd is passionate about protecting the citizens of Brevard County and believes, as I do, that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is one of the strongest law enforcement agencies in the country. I look forward to working with Todd and the other 1,200 proud men and women of the agency as we take the Sheriff’s Office to the next level.”
