Melbourne Police Thwart Trio Of Car Burglars

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Alert police work and a citizen’s tip resulted in the apprehension of three suspected car burglars  in Melbourne early Thursday morning.

Melbourne Police Department spokesman Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said officers were called to a residence in the 4600 block of Beck Lake Circle after a neighbor observed two individuals ducking between parked cars.

The witness told police the suspects were dressed in dark clothing and hiding behind parked cars nearby.

Shelley said police then observed the suspects enter a vehicle and attempt to drive away before being stopped by a patrol car.

Three suspects were questioned and taken into custody for at least five car burglaries in the neighborhood.

Arrested were Joseph C. Boucher, 21, Nicole Fleming, 21, and Kenneth Jordan, 20, all from Palm Bay.

Police said they believe more vehicles may have been broken into in the neighborhood and requested area resdients who discover their car has been burglarized to call             321-409-2200 and report it.

Shelley said the suspects located vehicles in the neighborhood that were not locked and then entered them.
