South Beach Jamboree Opens 2012 Youth Football

BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Thousands of children from across Brevard County helped kick off the 2012 Brevard County Youth Football and Cheerleading Association’s 50th anniversary season Saturday with jamborees at Satellite High School, Mitchell Ellington Park and in Sebastian.

The South Beach Jamboree at Satellite High School featured teams from Rockledge, Suntree Viera and West Melbourne as they joined the host South Beach Seahawks for a series of scrimmage games.

At the Merritt Island Jamboree, players from Palm Bay, Titusville and Melbourne joined the host Merritt Island Mustangs in scrimmages in which players in all age divisions saw time on both offense and defense.

At the Sebastian Jamboree at Barber Park, Port St. John and Bayside joined the host Sebastian Sharks for scrimmage games.

The regular season youth football schedule begins Saturday in Brevard County cuminating with the BCYFCA Super Bowls on Nov. 10 at the new Rodes Park in West Melbourne.
