BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — The Space Coast Cancer Foundation’ s 6th Annual Daffodil Gala to benefit Brevard County cancer patients in need of financial support was a tremendous success this past Saturday, August 18.

Held at the Holiday Inn Viera, the elegant and enjoyable Gala sponsored by VItas Innovative Hospice Care was attended by over 300 generous guests from all walks of life.

The guests were all dressed in Pacific-themed clothing and the silent auction, dancing and delicious food was enjoyed by all in attendance.

HOPE, HEALTH & HEALING epitomizes Dr. Richard Levine’s professional and charitable credo. Dr. Levine, a Space Coast Humanitarian, above with his wife Lynn, founded the Space Coast Cancer Foundation in 2006 with a mission to assist cancer patients and their caregivers in the local community with the financial and emotional demands that are associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. To further that goal, the Space Coast Cancer Center Foundation hosted its sixth annual Daffodil Gala on August 18, which is a celebration of life for cancer patients and those who have been touched by the disease.

“We were very pleased with the event and it was wonderful to see all our friends from the community,” said Dr. Rich Levine, the Space Coast Cancer Foundation chairman and president of Space Coast Cancer Center.

“We would like to thank all the sponsors who gave so generously and the very giving people that attended.”

Cancer Survivor of the Year

One of the highlights of the evening was when Dr. Duff Sprawls introduced and recognized the courage of the Cancer Survivor of the Year, Lynn VanLear.

VanLear thanked the entire Space Coast Cancer Center team and also her husband John who had been very supportive of her during her illness.

“This is the second year the Gala has taken place in Viera and we would like to thank businesses from throughout Brevard for showing their support,” said Grace Vista, Foundation Board member and Daffodil Gala Chairperson.
