Brevard County animal shelters are in need of help in feeding all the hungry homeless pets in the county’s shelters. Both the North and South Animal Care Centers are filled to capacity.

County residents are asked to make food donations and to consider buying an extra bag or can of pet food while at the grocery store this week to donate to the shelters.

Donations can be dropped off at the South Animal Care Center, 5100 West Eau Gallie Blvd. (just west of Interstate 95 and the Super Flea Market in Melbourne,) the North Animal Care Center, 2605 Flake Road (north end of Dunn Airport in Titusville,) or at the Animal Services and Enforcement Office at the Viera Government Center, Building A, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way in Viera.

Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday. Shelters are closed on Wednesday.

For more information, call the South Animal Care Center at 321-253-6608 or the North Animal Care Center at 321-264-5119 or visit www.brevardcounty.us/animalservices.
