“We play in three of the best tournaments you can play in the fall for Division II,” Panthers head coach Chris Saltmarsh said of the schedule. “They are all going to have the best teams in the country there. The schedule is going to be very stout.”

The season kicks off with The Aflac/Cougar Invitational on Oct. 1 in Columbus, Ga. The two-day tournament, hosted by Columbus State University, will be played at Country Club of Columbus. The Panthers finished ninth of 17 teams during last year’s tournament.

The following week, FIT will head to Palm Beach Gardens for the Guy Harvey Invitational, hosted by Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern. The squad will take the course at PGA National for the tournament. Formerly the Shark Invitational, the Panthers placed 10th in the event last year.

The third event of the season, the James McDonough Cup, will take place Oct. 29 to 30 at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando. Rollins College will play host to the tournament.

Florida Tech will close out the season with the Collegiate Players Cup, a duel match hosted by the Panthers on Nov. 2. The Crimson and Gray will take on Brevard CC in the two-day match.

“We’re looking to really see where we’re at,” Saltmarsh said. “We want to find out who can play and what we need to improve on to make ourselves very competitive in the conference when we get to the spring.”
