BREVARD COUNTY• MELBOURNE, FLORIDA– A come from behind win by Palm Beach Atlantic (13-2) in set one carried the Sailfish to a 3-0 decision over Florida Tech (8-2) Tuesday night at the Clemente Center. Set scores were 25-21, 25-13 and 25-14.

The Panthers’ seven-match win streak comes to an end with the loss. The Sailfish, meanwhile, have now won 11 straight matches and 30 consecutive sets.

FIT fed off the energy from its home crowd early as it took a five-point lead following a kill by Kim Juriga. However, after Marilyn Dick hammered down a kill to give the Panthers a 17-12 advantage, the next seven points went to Palm Beach Atlantic.

Mariela Quesada’s kill, which broke a 19-all game, helped put the Sailfish ahead for good in the opening set.

In the second and third frames, Palm Beach Atlantic never allowed FIT to grab the lead.

The visitors from West Palm Beach, Fla. hit .245 in the match, while holding the Panthers to a .062 hitting percentage. Quesada paced all players with 18 kills.
