Police Arrest Man In ‘Joker’ Makeup At Theater In Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested a suspicious man at the Premiere Theater who was wearing “Joker” makeup while waiting for a movie to start.

Melbourne Police Department spokesman Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said Christopher Sides, 21, was arrested when it was found that he had an outstanding warrant.

Shelley said that at about 10:34 a.m. Wedenesday, police received a call from a concerned citizen who told them they had just observed a man with “Joker” type makeup on his face and dyed pink hair pacing back and forth in front of and then entering the Premiere Theater on Hibiscus Boulevard.

The caller told police the man was wearing a leather jacket, jeans and boots.

Responding officers located Sides as he was exiting the front doors of the theater.

He had purchased a ticket to see “The Expendables 2.”

He had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on a previous misdemeanor charge and was taken into custody and transported to the Brevard County Jail.

Shelley said Sides made no threats while at the theater and was cooperative with officers while being taken into custody.
