Program Available For Certified Ophthalmology Assistants

Preparation For JCAHPO Examination

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A new beta preparation program  for anyone interested in becoming a certified ophthalmology assistant will be launched by Florida Institute of Technology’s Continuing Education Department on Tuesday.

Participants will learn the basics of ophthalmology, how to quantify vision in a patient, how to gather and document patient medical history, how to perform visual fields and other subject matter necessary to prepare for the JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmology Assistant examination.

The beta program is six months in length and is divided into six courses, each a month long.

Each course contains unit exams to prepare for a cumulative comprehensive final examination given at the end of the last course.
