Rain, Lightning Ends Day One of Panther Invitational

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Moments after the 2012 Panther Invitational began, the weather halted play with a lightning delay.

After a few hours of a delay, the first day of competition was cancelled. Day two of the invitational will begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with the men’s and women’s singles draws.

On Saturday, singles action will begin at 9:30 a.m. for both the men’s and women’s teams. All singles action will take place at the Fee Avenue Courts. The men’s draw will consist of 32 players divided into four flights. The women’s draw will hold 38 players with five flights.

If weather and time permits, one round of doubles play will take place tomorrow after singles are completed.
