BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – If you’re a fan of the ground game, this has been a fun year to watch prep football running backs in Brevard County.

It’s safe to say that almost every prep program has a talented back on their team that on any given Friday night could run for more than 100 yards and cross into the end zone for touchdowns multiple times.

Brevard has a long tradition of excellence at the running back position and has sent a host of players on to compete in college over the decades.

Players like Melbourne High School’s Mike Hamilton (Oklahoma State), Titusville’s Gerald White (Michigan) and Merritt Island’s Leon Bright (Florida State) are just a few of the many fine running backs to suit up in high school here and later gone on to success at the next level.

The list of local talent is lengthy and we tried to include a representation of game-changers from through Brevard.

So we’re asking you in a fun and informal poll, in your opinion, who is the top running back in Brevard County this season?
