BCC Golfers Surge To Second In Darton Tourney

Titans' Benson Finishes Fifth Overall

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College golf team scored its third podium finish in three events this fall season, finishing second in the Darton College Fall Invitational in Albany, Ga. on Tuesday.

BCC finished second in its season-opener at Wallace State in Cullman, Ala., and third at the Webber Warrior Invitational in Lake Wales.

Central Alabama won the Darton event shooting 287-282-292-861 over 54 holes to 287-296-297-880 for BCC. Host Darton was third at 889 over the 6,919-yard, par 72 River Pointe Golf Club.

Individually BCC’s Kyle Benson was fifth at 68-73-76-217. Teammates Anthony Skirk shot 74-76-70-200; Blake Biggs 73-73-77-223; Tyler Howes 72-74-79-225 and Keith Greene 75-83-74-232.

“Kyle Benson did a good job finishing fifth,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said. “We need better play all around to be more competitive.”

Next up for BCC is the Oct. 22 and 23 NJCAA District 4 Preview in Pendleton, S.C.
