Titans Seek Improvement, Playoff Berth

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – As enthusiasm grows for a new season of women’s basketball at Brevard Community College, head coach Renee Bellamy has been preparing the Titans for a tough schedule she hopes will lead to a postseason playoff berth.

After going 13-18 a year ago, Bellamy says she’s excited about her team’s chances of improving this season.

“Our goal has always been to make the playoffs and to attend the state tournament, however, this year is much different,” Bellamy said. “We must be in the first or second slot in our conference in order to qualify for the state tournament, so it is imperative that we play ranked, competitive, aggressive and talented teams, which will help us see our true potential.”

We sat down with Coach Bellamy at BCC’s Winter Sports Media Day and asked her about the challenges ahead for BCC women’s basketball this coming year.
