BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will not be appearing at a campaign rally on Monday, Oct. 29 at the Clemente Center on the campus of Florida Tech.

Paul Ryan

The Romney-Ryan ticket cancelled all campaign appearances to show concern for those in the path of Hurricane Sandy in the northeast part of the country.

It is unsure when both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will resume campaigning  or if Congressman Ryan will reschedule his appearance in Brevard County prior to the general election next week.

In 1998, at age 28, Ryan was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Wisconsin’s Congressional District 1. In addition to continuing to serve in that position, he currently chairs the House Budget Committee, and is a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Since President Barack Obama took office in 2008, Ryan has criticized several of Obama’s policies and spending plans, including the 2012-13 federal budget proposal.
