The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. FOP is dedicated to being the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities.

“Mark LaRusso has been an excellent councilman for two terms and has earned the respect of the law enforcement community. Mark has the leadership and experience to guide the city through these difficult economic times,” said FOP Lodge #37 President Bert Gamin. “We have an excellent relationship working with Mark on issues important to the FOP and our membership believes he is the right guy for the job.”

LaRusso is a second-term councilman for the city of Melbourne and an avid servant of the community — he has served on the executive board for the YMCA and is an Honorary Board Member of Honor America.  He also was honored with the “Friend of the Florida Tax Payer” Award by Congressman Bill Posey.

“The endorsement of the FOP is a great honor,” LaRusso said. “I have always valued the important job performed by all members of the law enforcement community and look forward to working with them as mayor.”
