Missing Rockledge Woman Found Alive By Police

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – A woman missing since early Thursday has been found safe by Rockledge police officers.

Rockledge Police Department public information officer Michael Cadore said Minnie Thomas, 61, who was last seen at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at her residence at 1450 Garden Road in Rockledge, was found safe by officers on Friday.

Circumstances regarding her disappearance were not made public, but Cadore said she was found in an abandoned house at 1452 Garden Road.

Cadore thanked everyone for their help in locating Thomas. He said she was taken to the hospital for observation as a precaution, but did not appear to be harmed.

The National Crime Information Center reports that every day 2,300 people are reported missing in America.

This is six times the average daily amount of missing persons reports recorded in 1984 and a total of about 50,000 adults each year.
