Storms Dash Panthers’ Football Scrimmage

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The second intrasquad scrimmage for Florida Tech’s new college football team schedule to be played Saturday night at Pirates Stadium at Palm Bay  High School was canceled as strong thunderstorms swept through Melbourne.

Florida Tech’s Athletic Communications Director Ryan Jones said that the scrimmage will not be rescheduled.

The next intrasquad scrimmage for the Panthers will be at Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m.  at Pirate Stadium.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

More than 100 Florida Tech athletes have been practicing this fall to prepare for the official launch of Panthers football in 2013.

Under the direction of coach Steve Englehart, Florida Tech will begin play in the Gulf South Conference next fall.
