Titans Finish Second In Fall Preview Golf Tourney

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College golf team scored its fourth top-3 finish of the fall season Tuesday by finishing second in the NJCAA Division I District 4 Fall Preview tournament in Pendleton, S.C.

Central Alabama edged BCC by two strokes for team laurels, shooting 282-286-304-872 to 287-291-296-874. But, BCC freshman Arthur Leonard finished first individually shooting 72-71-70-213 to edge three runners-up by one stroke.

“Two shots,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said about BCC’s third second-place finish of the fall season to go along with one third-place finish.

“We have an awesome freshman class,” Howell added. “We need to improve at the 3-4-5 slots.”

BCC freshman Keith Greene finished sixth at 69-70-79-218. Freshman Brett Maue shot 73-75-75-223; freshman Nick Maynard 73-75-76-224 and sophomore Blake Biggs 74-82-75-231 over the par-71, 6,500-yard Boscobel Golf & Country Club course.

Next up for BCC is the Nov. 2-4 Collegiate Players Cup tournament against Melbourne’s Florida Tech at Duran Golf Club in Viera.
