Titans Sweep Friday Volleyball Matches

Two More Games Today

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College volleyball team got back into the win column in resounding fashion on Friday winning two matches on the opening day of the Lake Sumter Community College tournament.

BCC defeated Lake Sumter 14-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 and South Florida Community College 25-17, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-17 to improve to 6-22 on the season.

Ashley Gonzalez had 27 kills on the day for BCC, Sami Spring 18 kills and 13 blocks, Ashley Dills 17 kills and 29 blocks, Micaela Vowinkel 13 blocks, Sara Watkins 18 digs and Taylor Gembecki eight aces and 41 assists.

BCC wraps up the tournament on Saturday with matches at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and then returns home to the Melbourne Campus gym for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday against Polk State College.

The Titans completes the season back at Lake Sumter at an Oct. 26 tri-match.
