BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College men’s basketball team plays a preseason game tonight at NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip-off is 7 p.m.

Titans head coach Jeremy Shulman and his team are ready to go.

“The guys have been competing really hard in practice against each other, but this scrimmage will be a good gauge of where we are, and what we need to work on going into our regular season next week,” Shulman said.

Brevard will face Palm Beach Atlantic without two key freshmen, Ben Patrick and NCAA Division I transfer Luka Pajkovic. Both are coming back from injuries and their return is uncertain.

Still, Shulman, always the optimist, sees the silver lining.

“Injuries are never good, but this has been a great opportunity for some of our other guys to step forward and show what they can do,” he said. “Playing against a more mature and experienced team will be great for our younger kids.”

BCC plays one more pre-season game, 2 p.m. Saturday at home in the Melbourne Campus gym against NCAA Division II Lynn University before opening its regular season in the Nov. 2 and 3 Northwest Florida Tip-Off Classic in Niceville. Admission to the Lynn game is free.

Also, the men’s and women’s basketball programs are hosting Titans Madness from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Melbourne gym. The evening pep rally will feature three-point shooting and dunking contests, men’s and women’s intrasquad games, and a meet-and-greet with players. Admission is free.
