BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – When you get right down to it, defense wins championships.

Stopping opponents from scoring and limiting their ability to move the ball up and down the field truly matters in high school football.

It takes a strong mindset to play defense and a desire to prevent other teams from accomplishing their mission of reaching the end zone.

Flashy offensive stars may grab the headlines, but the foundation of any successful prep squad has always been its defense.

The list of defensive stars on the Space Coast is lengthy this season and we’d sure like to recognize everyone, but space only permits a few.

So in an informal poll strictly for fun, in your opinion, who is the top defensive player suiting up in Brevard County this season?

  1. WALTER ROBILLARD should win this. If you have not seen him at safety, you are missing out. HE use to be a QB, but his coach screwed him out of his position even though he is the best one at Rockledge.
