Organizations Team Up To Help Hurricane Victims

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – For those wondering how to help those in need in the Northeastern United States suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane  Sandy, a local organization is willing to  step up and help.

U*SA Thrift Store in Melbourne has teamed up with the National Veterans Homeless Support organization to collect donations for Hurricane Sandy victims in New York and New Jersey, (Image by Derekl Suomi)

Deny Lammardo of the USA Thrift Store in Melbourne has teamed up with Dorothy Walsh of National Veterans Homeless Support in Titusville to try to render assistance to those affected by the hurricane.

The organizations are collecting clothing and other items for donation at the USA Thrift Store.

“These are not items we are selling,” Lammardo said. “We are going to use private funds to transport this stuff up to New York and New Jersey.

Donations may be dropped off at USA Thrift, located at 1442 N. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne.
