BCC defeated the College of Central Florida 62-61 on Nov. 17 in Ocala in its most recent game.

The Titans wrap up the week with games on Friday and Saturday at the JUCO Shootout in Gainesville. They play Tallahassee Community College at 4 p.m. on Friday and Santa Fe Community College at 6 p.m. on Saturday, for the third time. Both of the previous games against Santa Fe were losses.

BCC head coach Renee Bellamy is looking for her team to pick right up where it left off the last time it played in Ocala.

“How we finished the game is how we need to start the game and continue playing through,” Bellamy said. “Our 2-1-2 press, we trapped out of it and we contained. It was one of the biggest positives we had as far as defense.

“We’ve got to go back with that with a little bit of change in our offense.”

Bellamy also believes her team has fresh legs after its 10-day layoff and the Thanksgiving holiday.

“We had a good practice (Sunday),” she said. “They looked pretty good, especially coming back after Thanksgiving. They were pretty active.”

Sophomore co-captain Shaneece Stephens is leading BCC in scoring with 70 points or 17.5 per game. She also is shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and shares the lead in assists with sophomore Shante Stevenson with four.

Freshman Nia Frederick leads in rebounds with 16. Sophomore co-captain Kasie Berry has 15. Freshman Jasmine Bullard leads in steals with seven. Stephens, Arquinetta Daly and Berry have six apiece.
