The free throws – two apiece by sophomore co-captain Nyles Evans and sophomore Luka Pajkovic and one from freshman Juri Gunjina – capped a wild game in which both teams established and lost big leads.

Brevard sprinted to a 14-point lead in the first half but Tallahassee clamped down and chipped away to lead by two at the half, 36-34.

The lead ballooned to 53-34 early in the second half but BCC rallied to cut the advantage to 53-51 with 11 minutes and 22 seconds remaining on a four-point play by Pajkovic.

BCC, which went on a 20-0 run, took the lead on its next possession and from there it was back and forth until the final free throws.

BCC, ranked 10th in Florida, improved to 10-3, rebounding from its worst defeat of the season, a 95-69 loss to Gulf Coast State College on Saturday. Tallahassee, ranked sixth in the state, fell to 8-4.

Pajkovic led BCC with 25 points including five three-pointers. Evans, who came off the bench, added 16, freshman Mike Kirkland had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Gunjina had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
