‘Diaper Derby Dash’ Saturday In Port St. John

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – There will be plenty of kidding around going on in Port St. John this weekend.

A Diaper Derby Dash for children ages 6 to 18 months will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Port St. John Community Center at 6650 Corto Road in Port St. John.

The “Kiddy Crawl” consists of crawling 25 feet to the finish line for infants ages 6 months.

The “Teddy Bear Trot” is a 40-foot walk/run to the finish line for ages 7 to 18 months with their favorite stuffed toy.

There will be prizes for the winners and fastest times. A birth certificate may be required to assure fair play.

Th event also features an arts and crafts project, “Ready Your Teddy” (stuff your own bear), for the first 40 contestants and there will be a kid train ride for contestants, free cotton candy and/or snow cone while supplies last.

There is a $5 fee per participant.

The event is sponsored by Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department’s North Area Parks Operations.
