The event starts at 7 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway in Viera.

All area singers are invited to participate in the grand choral event that attracts several hundred Central Florida singers each year.

The assembled singers will be accompanied by members of the professional Space Coast Symphony Orchestra with featured soloists from the Space Coast Chorus.

Symphony Artistic Director Aaron Collins will lead the orchestra and chorus in the fifth annual Messiah Sing-Along.

Collins said he expects the Christmas sing-along will really make a joyful noise.

“Our annual Messiah sing-along event is getting bigger and bigger,” said Collins. “This is our fifth annual and there’s nothing that compares to the energy and excitement of hundreds of singers performing Handel’s music.  The Hallelujah chorus will raise the roof.”

The music-loving public is encouraged to attend the free event and enjoy the classic most associated with the Christmas season.

Singers may bring their own score or use the music provided. The public is invited to sing or simply listen to the perennial Christmas favorite.
