NAR Calls For Opposition To Elimination of Mortgage Interest

By  //  December 17, 2012

REAL ESTATE

The National Association of Realtors needs your urgent help to protect the stability of the United States housing market and our economy.

The National Association of Realtors, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

As part of negotiations on avoiding the “Fiscal Cliff,” our Congress has made many direct references to “closing loopholes” and “limiting deductions” as a way to raise revenues. Clearly, the mortgage interest deduction is high on this list of revenue raisers.

NAR is calling for Realtors and homeowners to voice their opinion on this important matter by sending a short message to our Senators and Members of Congress.

NAR will continue to be vigilant and oppose any plan to exclude or modify the ability to deduct mortgage interest as it is vital to the stability of the economy and the housing market.
