Man Held Up Mims Store Wednesday Night

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s agents are investigating the armed robbery of a Kangaroo Express on Wednesday evening in Mims.

Brevard County Sheriff’s Agent Jacqueline Hearon said the Sheriff’s Office North Precinct General Crimes Unit is searching for man who held up the Kangaroo Express at  2498 Turpentine Road in Mims about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Hearon said the man walked up to the front counter, displayed a silver colored semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash from the store clerk.

The suspect then ordered the store clerk to lay face-down on the floor as he fled the area in a south-bound direction.

The store clerk was not injured in the robbery.

Heraon said the suspect is white and about 17 to 20 years of age. He is around 6-feet tall and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

The suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and Van brand style shoes with white soles.

He had a red bandana covering the lower half of his face.
