West Melbourne Police Public Information  Officer Lt. Richard Cordeau said the incident happened near Wingate Boulevard and Vandiver Way on Friday afternoon.

“During the altercation one of the men brandished a large pocket knife and subsequently cut the other subject involved,” Cordeau said.

The injured man was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery for injuries to his forearm and shin.
