Palm Bay Aquatic Center Offering Lifeguard Training

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Not everyone is cut out to be a lifeguard.

Testing is rigorous and the job is physically demanding and challenging.

If you think you may have what it takes, the Palm Bay Aquatic Center will offer a Lifeguard Training Course starting Jan. 29.

The center is at 420 Community College Parkway, just south of the Brevard Community College Campus.

Class dates and times are from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Jan. 29, Jan. 31, Feb. 5, Feb. 7, Feb. 12, Feb. 14, Feb. 19, and Feb. 21.

The cost is $160 and must be paid upon successful completion of a skills test.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is recommended.

Interested candidates must be a minimum of age 15, be able to swim 300 yards nonstop (freestyle and breaststroke), swim 20 yards, pick up a 10-pound object and return to the starting point in 1 minute and 40 seconds and tread water with legs only for 2 minutes.
