Melbourne Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said a man walked into the TD Bank at 1025 S. Babcock Street in Melbourne about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and gave a teller a note demanding money.

Shelley said the man implied to the teller that he had a gun.

“After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the subject fled the bank and was observed by witnesses getting into a cab,” Shelley said.

Police tracked the cab to a location at 1709 N. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne where a suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Shelley said police arrested Scott Robert Wicks, 39.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this crime and more details may be forthcoming.

The same TD Bank location was robbed twice last year.
